Dallas Based Blue Star Sports Acquires New York Startup Krossover
Dallas based Blue Star Sports, is the worlds leading youth sports management technology company. Through their core business and a series of acquisitions they’ve built a sports technology company that sticks with athletes from their very first rec league, through high school, college and onto their professional career. Blue Star was able to pull off what St. Louis startup LockerDome could not, before they pivoted in 2015. To add to their growth, they just announced the acquisition of sports technology startup Krossover.
Krossover is a venture backed sports technology startup based in New York city that provides recording and training tools to millions of athletes. Very loosely, basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball and other spots coaches can upload their film to Krossover and within 12 hours, the company can analyze it, tag it, and stat every play. They’ve built an unprecedented, unrivaled and unparalleled tool for coaches and record keepers at every level.
Krossover has caught the eye of some incredible sports investors including Quicken Loans and Cleveland Cavailiers owner, Dan Gilbert, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, and retired San Antonio Spurs Champion David Robinson. Krossover has raised $24.86 million dollars in 8 rounds. The latest was a $20 million dollar series B round led by RSE Ventures, the multi national sports and entertainment firm co-founded by Matt Higgins and Ross.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed however alleywatch.com reports that Krossover founder Vasu Kulkarni will remain with the company and run Krossover within Blue Star Sports.
