Nobarriers-Top No Barriers: What's Within You Is Stronger Than What's In Your Way SXSWedu

What’s within you is stronger than what’s in your way. That’s a great quote, a great mantra and a great lesson to learn at any age. That’s why No Barriers is helping students from grades 4-12 break barriers with their No Barriers Youth programs.

No Barriers provides a variety of programs and expeditions designed to challenge young people to contribute their absolute best in the world, while also giving them the experience within themselves to get passed their fears, limitations and barriers.  They do this through a variety of experiences, and expeditions.

No Barriers hosts expeditions across the country and around the world. They’ve taken kids white water riding in the Grand Canyon and to meet the Dalai Lama and everywhere in between.

“Through a three-phased educational program, we challenge middle and high school youth and their educators to live a No Barriers Life.  Much more than just cool trips, our programs provide a comprehensive approach to interdisciplinary experiential education through three phases: Thoughtful Preparation, Transformative Expeditions, and Meaningful Action.” The company says on their website.

No Barriers isn’t just about kids though, they offer programs for veterans that have really made a difference. Their Warriors program is for veterans with disabilities and improves their lives through curriculum based experiences in challenging environments.

“I’m not the same person today as when I started this program. I’m more motivated, more focused. I’m ready to go back home and make a difference” – Danny, US Army Veteran said on the No Barriers website.
At SXSWedu our 9 year old edTech correspondent, Tatum F, got to talk with them about the programming they specifically offer to kids in grades 4-12.
In addition to the expedition, they also hold an annual uplifting, No Barriers Summit. This years summit will be June 1-4th at the resort at Squaw Creek in beautiful Lake Tahoe.
