Absolute Audio Labs, another incredible Dutch startup from the Netherlands, has created technology that gives music back to people, even if they suffer from some kind of hearing loss.

Research says that globally, 1 in 3 people have some kind of hearing loss. This loss can be genetic, or due to injury or prolonged exposure to loud noises and even music.  Many musicians and disc jockeys go through life losing a bit of their hearing every year. That music that once drove them to do the thing they love, begins to escape them.

Absolute Audio Labs developed Pyour (pronounced pure) to let people, all people, enjoy music the way their ears are meant to hear it.

In users who still have a full range of hearing, they will notice a much fuller sound. They’ll hear the music and the audio coming from Pyour in amazing fidelity, in a much more immersive experience. People who no longer have a full range of hearing will be able to hear sounds and music the way they had in the past. The bass may be lifted up just enough to hear it, without causing any more damage.

Pyour has taken the award winning Parrot Zik 3 headphones and added a special, proprietary firmware that takes an already amazing pair of headphones and makes them truly smart. The firmware syncs with a mobile app that starts by testing your hearing. After the short hearing test the software and firmware adjust the headphones specifically to the way you hear music, giving many users an experience they may have thought was totally lost.

Using the Pyour app, users can see a visualization of the way they hear and set limits so that the sound doesn’t adversely affect them even more. Also, over time, as your listening hears, Pyour grows with you. Maybe in a year you need just a tad more bass and a little bit more mid-range, all of that can be worked out automatically or customized manually within the app.

Pyour is truly making a difference in people everywhere. Some of the user’s who’ve tried Pyour are re-hearing things again for the first time.
