CES 2018 Preview: Rocking Bed Does Exactly What You Think It Does and It’s Magnificent
Let’s take a trip back to when you were a baby. Or if you’re a parent yourself, think about when your son or daughter was a baby. Movement, while trying to relax is one of the quickest ways to get someone to fall asleep and stay asleep. For many babies a rocking swing, rocking bassinet or even a rocking crib was the key to a great nap and an afternoon of getting housework done.
So why wouldn’t this work for adults?
The funny thing is, it does, and a Georgia startup is introducing rocking bed technology to the world. “simply retrofit the patent pending Rocking Bed to your existing bed frame, and you’ll be sleeping like a baby again in no time.” the company says on their website.
The science behind Rocking Bed is actually pretty simple. The motion of a rocking bed will help keep the sleeper’s mind focused on a single stimulus, the rocking or the motion. In fact, this isn’t new science. Water beds that were popular in the 70’s and 80’s were trying to emulate this condition. Their science was flawed though because of unintended factors like the water temperature or just how full the bed itself was.
With Rocking Bed you can still use your favorite back supporting mattress since it’s retrofit to the frame. Some of the Rocking Bed models allow you to adjust the rocking itself until it’s just right. Similar to a baby, the Rocking Bed will put you into a deep sleep. You’ll wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day, which can lead to increased productivity.
Many people who struggle to get to sleep or stay asleep have had this problem for years. Many of those same people used to “sleep like a baby”. Now you can get back to that, thanks to Rocking Bed.
