It’s time for class and the instructor pushes a digital handout, a pdf, through Blackboard Learn, to the students in the class. Today, they’re going to all go through the handout together and annotate as needed during the discussion. Annotate.co makes this all possible through a feature packed, LMS plugin.
Annotate.co seamlessly integrates into all of the popular LMS systems including Blackboard, Canvas, and Moodle. They also have a plugin integration with WordPress for those using Annotate.co outside of the classroom.
Through a simple click, instructors can link copies of the document right into Annotate if it’s not already there. Once it’s in the Annotate system it becomes fully annotatable. Instructors can add a document to Annotate’s system through their LMS, Google Drive and DropBox.
Annotate can be used with pdf’s, Microsoft Word documents, images and more. Documents, images and pdfs can be marked up, highlighted even searched. Users, students and instructors can link documents and text within documents to other text. Annotate really brings documents to life in the LMS environment.
The web based utility is accessible from any device with a web browser. Pages are displayed to the user without downloading the entire document making it quick and easy to work with large documents. While users are marking, changing and annotating documents they are saved and changes are tracked. It’s easy to pull up an original and an annotated document to see what changes were made. Their collaborative platform allows users to see who made each change. Making the scenario described at the top of this story, as easy to work with as pieces of paper, or documents printed from a computer.
In learning environments where several students are working on the same document, they can use Annotate.co rather than having to open up, change, save and email different versions of a document.
