CTA Announces CES Eureka Park Climate Change Innovators
The annual CES conference in Las Vegas is notorious for it’s support of startups at all stages and in across all industries. Eureka Park, the startup showcase within CES is the largest assembly of startups in the United States with entrepreneurs showing off their companies from across the globe.
The Consumer Technology Association is constantly iterating it’s annual conference to keep up with the rising trends in technology and innovation. 2018 will be no different.
Earlier this week CTA announced the new “Eureka Park Climate Change Innovators” program. The program encourages all Eureka Park startups that are focus on climate change and effect climate change, to submit their company for a prestigious Climate Change Innovators award. The award will recognize exhibitors in Eureka Park who are placing bold bets on their technology’s ability to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions if widely implemented.
“To combat climate change, the tech industry must incentivize innovation and champion technology-based solutions,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “Consumer tech already provides many solutions to address climate challenges well beyond the electronics industry. Home automation systems cut unnecessary energy use, tech-enabled telecommuting reduces car travel and emissions, and newer tech products use less electricity. And there’s nowhere better than CES, the global stage for innovation, to scout the next startup that can deliver meaningful emission reductions.”
If you want your startup to be considered for this prestigious category, first make sure you’re signed up as a Eureka Park exhibitor. Then submit your online application via this form before November 16, 2017. The winners will be announced on December 20th.
Winners will receive recognition to press and media, recognition at the CES Unveiled press event the day before CES opens to the public, and a nice award to display at your booth (and at home in your office). The award recipients will also be recognized at an event on CES Sustainability Day, Thursday January 11, 2018 as part of the CES conference.
