Since 2014 California startup OjO Commuter Scooters has been working on developing a new form of sustainable transportation for the bike lane. OjO Commuter Scooters are stylish, powerful and leave zero carbon footprint, something everyone can get behind. With more and more people looking to leave the car at home, OjO provides a way to still get somewhere in a timely fashion and with a stylish machine.
The OjO commuter scooters are the first electric scooters in their class to have a completely battery operated drive train without sacrificing the power actually needed to commute. In many tests found across the internet, users have been able to get up and down hills with ease, something lacking in many comparable electric scooters.
It was this blend of form, function and style that helped them secure a partnership with Ford Motor Company for an exclusive line of six Ford Ojo Commuter Scooters. Each of the six scooters feature OjO’s patented and proprietary technology along with designs drawing visual inspiration from classic and contemporary Ford vehicles.
Major cities around the world are rapidly expanding bike lane travel with both designated and protected bike lanes. The OjO Commuter Scooter is poised to perfectly compliment this growing trend and to fulfill this emerging desire for urban transportation.
“We’re thrilled at the opportunities the new Ford OjO Commuter Scooters offer to introduce more people to the benefits of electric scooters,” said CEO of OjO Electric, Don Ratner. “With zero emissions, our line of OjO Commuter Scooters are smart, sustainable transportation for a clean ride.”
“OjO’s innovation and creativity are the perfect complement to our global brand promise,” said Marketing Manager, Global Brand Licensing of Ford Motor Company, Betsy McKelvey.
OjO Commuter Scooters can support an unprecedented passenger weight of 300 lbs while still offering great performance. The machine itself weighs just 65 pounds and features a unique heavy gauge all welded aluminum chassis. It also complies with all the rules and guidelines of the electric bicycle market, but is more fun to drive.
After their debut at CES, the Ford OjO Commuter Scooters will be available at retailers across the US and at ojoelectric.com.
