Today’s students have been surrounded by technology their entire lives. They’re even more creative then students before them, and they love to express themselves. Students are also producing a lot of work, projects and content during their academic careers. One digital portfolio company continues to innovate to ensure that kids have the best place to store and show their work. That company, is bulb.

“Bulb is where students, and educators curate and create, share and showcase their smarts.” the company says on their website. If you’re already a bulb user or you’ve spent anytime checking out the platform, you know that’s true.

bulb was built for education, but not just education, education in the 21st century. Their tools are built around the way students already function online. Simple drag and drop tools allow educators more time for teaching and allows students more time for creating.

Life’s work

Unlike other digital portfolio solutions bulb makes sure that student’s work stays with the student regardless of where their academic journey takes them. Students will be able to go back to their Bulb portfolio and share content they created in fifth grade, or as a senior project.

bulb also gives students freedom to share what they want with who they want. Some students use their bulb portfolios for their personal art work and designs, stories they write in their free time and other activities outside of school. They can share this work with a small group or everyone. Of course class work can still be viewed by their teachers.

Portfolios Drive Student Success

When a student has all of their work in one easy to navigate place, they can go back to it whenever they want. But more importantly, they can see how they’ve progressed over time. Even in classes like social studies and English, students will see their progress right before their eyes. This is a real benefit to using bulb digital portfolios. According to the International Journal of e-portfolio, 85% of students believe portfolios made them more aware of their growth as learners.

bulb is constantly innovating their own feature rich platform. When they make a change, the student is always the first source of inspiration.

Visit the bulb booth at FETC 2018 in Orlando Florida, January 23-26th, booth #2523, and see a gallery of student and educator portfolios made with their platform.
