So what if Christmas break just ended and it’s 20 degrees outside. Come late January it’s time to pack your bags and head to sunny Orlando Florida, home to Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando and one of the last remaining Friendly’s restaurants on earth. Oh, and did we forget to mention the largest independent K-12 edtech conference in the country.

FETC continues to grow every year. What was once known as the Florida Education Technology Conference is now the Future of Education Technology Conference. Administrators, teachers and support staff that attend the conference will be surrounded by thousands of like minded colleagues, hundreds of exhibitors with the latest in technology designed to drive student success, sun, fun and content.

For many educators, FETC is one of the only conferences they can attend. Since it falls in the school calendar year sometimes it’s actually easier to get the district to pay for it. For whatever the reason, if you missed your favorite edtech rockstar during the summer conference season, at ISTE, NAESP or ALA,  you might just find them presenting at FETC.

Monica Burns

Monica Burns is a favorite among many. The founder of ClassTechTips.com is also an Apple Distinguished Educator and is excellent at demonstrating how to implement technology in the classroom. Burns speaks teacher and educator, not tech nerd which is evident when you see her speak or read some of her pieces in Edutopia. She’s also the author of #FormativeTech: Meaningful, Sustainable, and Scannable Formative Assessment with Technology (Corwin Press, 2017) and Deeper Learning with QR Codes and Augmented Reality: A Scannable Solution for Your Classroom (Corwin Press, 2016).
