Legends Of Learning Provides One Of The Best Game Based Learning Platforms For Students In Grades 3-8
Legends of Learning is a curated game based learning platform that when implemented in the classroom, gives teachers the super powers they need to support amazing lessons and amazing students.
Legends of Learning houses over 1000 games in subjects earth science, life science and physical science. Once a teacher heads through one of the categories there are tons of games that cover all of the topics in that category. Legends of Learning knows the recipe for making game based learning successful for students in grades 3-8. Their games typically take between 5-20 minutes and align to state science curriculum standards to ensure content engages students and keeps them learning.
Once the kids are playing, teachers will be able to assess their students’ grasp of each concept and see how far along they are in the e-game system. They will also be able to see if the students need help and where exactly that help is needed.
Each game features a game curriculum section which details things like vocabulary, concept and standard that will be covered in each game. The curriculum section also offers discussion questions for before and after the students play each game. All of this ties right back into each individual game.
Quality is of the utmost importance to Legends of Learning. That’s why founder Vadim Poklov and his team created a ratings system at the end of all of the games. All of the developers and development companies that contribute to the platform are rated by the users. At ISTE 2017 in San Antonio, Poklov explained to us that after a critical review one developer totally reworked the entire game.
Poklov and his team are no strangers to education or gaming. They know that students in grades 3-8 are already playing Minecraft, Call of Duty, WoW and other games. The games offered via Legends of Learning need to captivate each student’s attention, and they do. Legends of Learning continually gets amazing reviews, and they listen to their teachers. Just prior to the kick off of the 2017-2018 school year the company released a bunch of updates based on teacher recommendations.
Teachers and administrators that have been on the fence about a GBL strategy should definitely check out Legends of Learning at FETC 2018 in Orlando Florida, January 23-28th, booth #2254 and online at legendsoflearning.com
