What’s a shmoop? Shmoop is a verb that means, move things forward a little bit and that’s what the folks at shmoop.com are doing. Shmoop is a totally comprehensive learning repository and platform. They offer hundreds of test prep guides, study guides, and online classes.

Shmoop offers fun, rigorous material that engages and challenges students. They approach education with no pretense or chest pounding. They believe in being relevant, real and approachable, how can they not with a name like shmoop.  Shmoop wants to be a single go to source for all things education and they lay it all out in an easy to navigate website.

The company offers test prep for all the major tests including; ACT, Advaned Placement exams, ELL, PSAT, Exit Exams, SAT and many more. They also offer test prep guies in Spanish. Each test prep guide includes a diagnostic exam, comprehensive topic review, hundreds of drills and multiple practice exams. This insures each an every student can master the concepts needed to get a great score on the exam.  Their advanced placement prep encompasses every advanced placement exam in existence. They make their study guides and test prep easy to understand as to not cause headaches or unnecessary pain while studying. They even make test prep fun.

Shmoop offers over 300 online courses including; ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, College Prep courses and electives. They also issue certificates of completion and make sure that their material is inline with common core and other important standards. Some of their more exciting courses that make learning fun and relatable include a course on the book 1984 and another entitled “Breaking Bad As Literature”. Shmoop is different, and exciting.

If you have a student having trouble in math or with ELA, Shmoop offers RIT, Response to Intervention Tools called “Let’s Conquer Math” and “Let’s Conquer ELA”. Each RIT includes a diagnostic exam, complete leveled instruction to insure students master the concepts and online monitoring so that the teacher or parent can offer valuable feedback.
