Edgemakers Is Bringing Out A Students Inner Entrepreneur
While some may not believe that entrepreneurship can be taught in school. Many people, myself included, believe that entrepreneurship is something that you’re born with. The hustle factor comes natural for many people. Most of this talk though, is almost always about adults, or at least college students.
We do, however, know that the earlier we expose an idea to a student the more effective it will be. Edgemakers is a learning system that doesn’t claim to teach entrepreneurs to be entrepreneurs. Edgemakers is the only learning system in the world that explicitly defines and teaches innovation as a multifaceted discipline that anyone can learn. This innovation can be the backbone of any field of study or any course you’re teaching in middle school, high school, community college or even four year colleges.
“EdgeMakers is the world’s first comprehensive learning system for innovation and the related discipline of entrepreneurship. Today’s world–and tomorrow’s–demands a different kind of educated human being. One who has learned the discipline of how to create with a purpose.” the company says.
EdgeMakers is an integrated, practice based, purpose driven learning system for innovation and entrepreneurship. Their system encompasses, creativity and innovation, story telling and change making, design edge, character and collaboration and entrepreneurship and startups.
Through EdgeMakers students explore:
- How does creativity work?
- What does it mean to be innovative and “do” innovation?
- What lessons can we learn from creative people?
- How are ideas born?
- What does my creativity look like?
- What makes an effective creative team?
Like the Rochester based Young Entrerpeneur’s Academy there is definitely a need for programs that will either teach kids the fundamentals of entrepreneurship or help them bring out their inner entrepreneur and innovator.
