Fogstone Isle By Cignition is the most active, engaging and fun way for students to learn math. In Fogstone Isle students design their own virtual worlds through highly engaging and challenging math games. It’s a cross between Minecraft and a good math program with the fun and appeal of a console video game.

The magic in Fogstone Isle is that Cignition has blended neuroscience, pedagogy, and game design creating a platform where students are solving complex math problems and having fun with it. Fogstone Isle employs adaptive learning and with that the game itself allows the student to move on as they grasp the associated, standards aligned math concepts. Fogstone Isle is so fun that students don’t even realize they are learning.

Just what does Fogstone Isle cover? Well the game based platform is designed for fourth through eighth graders and covers the concepts that they absolutely hate, like; fraction equivalence, fraction addition, fraction multiplication, fraction division, ratio and proportion, adding and subtracting decimals, and more. The platform continues to grow.

One of the best parts is that Fogstone Isle is completely free for schools and provides the same comprehensive analytics, valuable assignment and lesson tools as platforms that cost thousands of dollars and aren’t even a fraction of the fun (do you see what we did there).

Fogstone Isle is also an HTML 5 web based or Apple app program making it available on virtually any device so it’s perfect for 1:1 schools and BYOD.

“I have some kids STUCK in a fixed mindset about math and I NEED to work with them on comparing and ordering fractions.  My kids who were ready to move on have been happily building houses and chimneys and loving math.  A student built himself a factory, so I’m guessing he’s playing with ratios as well.  It’s really such a good tool.” Erica Foster a teacher at The Wellington School says on their website.

We love it when we find companies that sneak learning into fun gaming platforms. Find out more about Fogstone Isle by Cognition in the AT&T EdTech Startup Pavilion at ISTE 2018 in Chicago, June 23-28th, booth #1644 and online at cignition.com
