During SXSW, we had the chance to meet with a ton of great companies, some incredibly interesting entrepreneurs, and see some great new products. Well, one OrigAudio booth exposed us to all three of these categories. OrigAudio makes a wide variety of products for mobile devices.
As the company name suggests, OrigAudio focuses on speakers and headphones, though not exclusively. The company produces a wide variety of Bluetooth speakers, in all shapes and sizes. They also make Beets headphones. a subtle jab.
OrigAudio also makes one of the most unique audio devices I have ever seen. The Rock-It is a device that turns anything into a speaker. Don’t just take my word for it. Way back in 2009, OrigAudio’s founders – Jason Lucash and Mike Szymczak – took the original version of the Rock-It to the Shark Tank, and secured an investment from Robert Herjavec.
The Rock-It 3.0 portable vibration speaker system takes music from your device and turns it into vibration sequences. It sends those vibrations through the Rock-It pod which sticks to ANY object. Simply press play on your device and the Rock-It will turn that object into a speaker!1
During SXSW, we had a chance to speak with Jason Lucash, one of OrigAudio’s Co-Founders. Lucash told us a bit about some of their upcoming products, as well as his upcoming appearance at Hcon. Lucash will be speaking at the Round House day of entrepreneurship next week and then at Hcon in October.
