Tom Murray to Hold Book Signing For “Learning Transformed: 8 Keys To Designing Tomorrow’s Schools, Today” At The Bulb Booth at TCEA 2018.
Fresh on the heels of Bulb’s exciting partnership announcement with Future Ready Schools, the premiere digital portfolio platform, that puts students first, has announced that Tom Murray will be meeting and greeting attendees as well as selling and signing his book “Learning Transformed: 8 Keys To Designing Tomorrow’s Schools, Today” at their booth, #1545 on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 4:30-5:30pm during the exhibit hall opening ceremony and reception (Austin Convention Center).
Tom Murray is one of the most sought out speakers on blended learning, 1:1 classroom initiatives, BYOD, and all things student centered digital learning. Most of the teacher’s attending TCEA also know that Murray is the founder of the #edtechchat on Twitter, the most widely recognized edtech chat across social media.
Murray helps lead both, Future Ready Schools and Digital Learning Day. He’s a regular conference attendee, presenter and featured speaker and was also named the “2017 Education Thought Leader of the Year,”.
His knowledge comes from years spent in the classroom as a teacher and principal and then onto district level positions where he helped lead the charge to bring student centered digital learning into schools across the country. Murray is regularly called on as a consultant for districts from coast to coast to come up with digital learning strategies, plans and implementations.
Just two weeks ago at BETT and FETC, Bulb announced a new exciting partnership with Future Ready Schools. They talked with nibletz.com about that partnership here.
Bulb and FRS announced a national initiative to maximize digital learning opportunities and help school districts move quickly toward preparing students for success in college, a career and citizenship. Through FRS programs and partnerships, thousands of district leaders have planned and implemented personalized, research-based digital learning strategies for millions of students to achieve their full potential.
“Personalized learning is at the heart of Future Ready Schools,” Murray said in a statement. “By partnering with a digital leader like bulb, FRS benefits from the experience that bulb has developed in its service to students and educators nationwide. Together we can move closer to the goal of ensuring that every student has access to a rigorous, personalized learning environment filled with caring adults.”
Unlike other online portfolios, Bulb wants to be a centralized digital portfolio for any student anywhere. They also want that student to be able to carry that portfolio with them throughout their entire scholastic career. Which is a welcomed change from other similar products. With other portfolio products the teacher is in control. Bulb puts the control back into the hands of the student.
Bulb isn’t just the locker, it’s also the creation platform. Built into Bulb are creative tools that allow students, or anyone, the ability to create a portfolio, customize the portfolio and bring content in from any place they want. Bulb allows their users to create groups that can access different types of content within their portfolio. This makes it possible for the high school sophomore to have a resume group, a school work group and even a group for their poems, art or sports statistics.
