Tampa EdTEch Startup Script Announces New Funding And Partnerships
Field Trips are an essential part of education, but everyone knows what a pain in the ass they can be. First a teacher or team has to get the field trip approved by an administrator. Then they have to go through the permission slip and payment hassle, and then finally they can board the bus for whatever great destination is in the cards.
Until now, that process involved a lot of paperwork, dependency on students, sometimes as young as pre-k, and hounding parents.
A Tampa Wave startup called Script LLC has automated that process and brought it mobile. The Script App handles everything from routing administrator approval, to permission slips, to payment collection. With the Script app, teachers just create a field trip, and once it’s approved the app works it’s magic. When it’s go time, the teachers know exactly what students are going and which ones aren’t.
The company announced earlier this month that they had received an undisclosed amount of funding from Ark Applications LLC, and PAR Inc.
Dayspring Academy, one of their earliest adopters, has nothing but praise for the new edtech company. “Script has dramatically simplified the field trip process and has allowed our teachers to focus on what they do best…teach,” said school founder John Legg.
A handful of Florida area schools have already adopted the Script platform. The company accelerated at Tampa Bay Wave, the region’s top shelf startup accelerator. “We have been so excited for Script to be part of Tampa Bay WaVe, and can’t wait to see what the future holds now that they have finished fundraising” said Danny McDonald, Accelerator Manager at the WaVe.
The company wouldn’t reveal how much money they have raised or the valuation, however the partnerships with both Ark and PAR should help Script get to the next level.
Script is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with Ark Applications and PAR. PAR’s 30-plus years of experience marketing and delivering products to institutional education customers and Ark Application’s expertise in strategic growth are key to our future success. This partnership helps fulfill our mission of eliminating needless time spent on paperwork in the classroom so teachers can finally teach more and manage less.” Script Co-Founder and CEO Aaron White said in a statement.
“We are delighted to partner with the Script team and assist them in advancing on all their tremendous accomplishments to date. They are an example of the robust talent within the Tampa Bay entrepreneurial ecosystem as well as another stellar group from the Tampa Bay WaVe program,” said Daniel D. Greco II, Manging Director of Ark Applications, LLC
