Why did you build Bornevia? What problem are you taking on?
We believe that there are a lot of inefficiencies when it comes to online customer service these days. In the era where customers can reach businesses from many different channels, there needs to be a simple tool that’s easy to setup by everyone that integrates to every possible communication channel in one place.
Our product helps teams to make multichannel support efficient. Our most recently launched live chat feature lets online businesses install chat widget on their homepage to talk to online visitors in real-time to boost conversion.
Our application is available on both web and mobile (android), and provides API that integrates with other apps.
How is Bornevia different from what is currently available?
1. we unify email, live chat, SMS, and social media messages in one team inbox interface instead of building separate sub-products like others. The experience is just like using Gmail for everything.
2. Our unique pricing lets businesses optionally pay based on only communication channels activated (email, live chat, etc) besides number of users.
Tell us your founding story. Was there an “ah ha” moment?
Benny Tjia, the co-founder and CEO, used to work as a software engineer in a tech company that uses Jira + Zendesk for IT bug tracking & customer service. He believed that there could be a huge small business market that can be reached by building a simpler version of customer service helpdesk that is: easy to setup, multichannel, and affordable.
Tell us about your founding team and their backgrounds.
Benny Tjia was a software engineer in a tech company in SF Bay Area, and together with Tjiu Suryanto, another co-founder who used to work as an embedded system engineer in US started Bornevia in Indonesia in 2013 and launched the product in 2014.
Both were college roomates studying computer science in United States.
