What is businessfriend?

businessfriend is a communications utility that helps you stay connected with the people and professionals that matter most to you. Redefining how you interact with your professional and social network, businessfriend makes collaborating with colleagues and peers a whole lot simpler. Instead of using several different apps to accomplish one goal, businessfriend allows you to seamlessly execute all business affairs in one, user-friendly platform.

Why did you build businessfriend? What problem are you taking on?

We built businessfriend because we wanted to consolidate the noise in business. An average person uses 5 programs/platforms/apps a day to accomplish one goal, imagine just having to use one platform to communicate, collaborate, share documents, catch up with your favorite brands and manage all of your contacts.

How is your product different from what is currently available?

We combine all the great features of several different products and put them into one, easy-to-use platform.

Tell us your founding story. Was there an “ah ha” moment?

The ah-ha moment came when our CEO was in the airport and was trying to get in contact with his wife and was having difficulty connecting with her through video chat because they use different devices. He then created a product, businessfriend, that allows you to connect through video and audio chat, plus IM despite the device you use/prefer.

Tell us about your founding team and their backgrounds.

Glen White, co-founder, is the CEO of a publishing company in San Diego who traveled across the pond from England to see his dreams come true in San Diego.

Freddie Pierce, co-founder, is a young and ambitious designer who left everything behind in Alabama to live his dreams in California. He was originally hired at Glen’s company, and the two of them created businessfriend on their spare time after work hours.
