DailyDrip, an educational startup of sorts, from Birmingham Alabama took home the best educational startup at the highly regarded LAUNCH Festival in Silicon Valley earlier this month. LAUNCH Festival is the event speerheaded by Jason Calacanis. Over the past few years Calacanis has been vigilant in making sure that startups from across the country and around the world are prominently featured in the contest.
LAUNCH Festival brings together over 15,000 founders across 3 days and 4 stages of pure startup action. It’s quite possibly the largest event of it’s kind in the world.
DailyDrip has created an app based delivery system that helps busy professionals with continuing education. In their pitch video they talk about a software engineer looking to learn ELM. The software engineer, like many of us, has an already long and busy schedule. DailyDrip is able to help teach the software engineer learn ELM through very short, concise and targeted “drips” that are delivered once daily via their app.
The learning process includes, quick lessons, tips, videos, and follow ups all designed to take a few minutes at the most each day. At the end of the week DailyDrip sends a newsletter to the user with the latest, and relevant news and information on whatever topic they’ve signed up for.
The company is now gearing up for the $250,000 Alabama LaunchPad competition.
