Malauzai Software creates Apple Watch Banking Apps

Well that didn’t take long. Earlier this month, Austin-based Malauzai Software launched SmartwearApps, a mobile banking app platform for the Apple Watch. That’s right, you can now check your balance, find the closest ATM or branch, and look at your transaction history on your wrist. This was a natural progression for Malauzai Software, a development firm that is focused completely on the banking industry. In fact, the company was able to create Apple Watch apps for eight of their clients in 40 days. Malauzai Chief Product Officer Robb Gaynor told Upstart Business Journal that the development did not require much work:

The company completed the app for eight of its community bank and credit union clients in 40 days because its engineers only needed to “tweak” Malauzai’s existing iPhone application to get the job done.1

This is quite a development. When the Apple Watch was released, it was touted as more of a notification-centered device than a true, do-anything device.
