Feel Calm and Focused Naturally With Doppel
We’ve seen wearables for everything under the sun. This year at CES 2018 and Eureka Park we know we’ll see hundreds of more. One we’re looking forward to is from British company Doppel.
Doppel has created a wearable called, well, Doppel. The Doppel wristband/bracelet, works by creating a silent vibration on the inside of the user’s wrist which feels like the beat of their heart. The wristband offers variable speeds with faster speeds and rhythms helping users stay focused. Slower rhythms help calm. The wristband will help users calm down or focus, depending on what they need.
The technology behind Doppel is backed by research in psychology and neuroscience. It’s widely known that the heartbeats of a mother and a baby will synchronize with one another when they interact closely. The same has been said of couples. Research has shown when an empathetic partner holds the hand of a woman in pain, their heart rates and respiratory rates sync and the pain reduces.
“Researchers also found that if you sit a couple face-to-face and ask them not to talk, just staring at each other for fifteen minutes is enough to get their levels of skin conductance and heart rate to sync up.” the company says on their website.
Doppel has tested the device in a lab and in everyday life. In a test in the Psychology Department at Royal Holloway University of London participants completed a controlled Psychomotor Vigilance Task. Subjects wearing the Doppel set between 100-120 bpm committed fewer lapses than the control group who had the Doppel switched off.
Doppel is committed to helping people focus and calm down and nothing else. There are no activity trackers or notifications. Users can wear Doppel to feel calm, and focused anytime and anywhere.
The company’s taking pre-orders now but you can see it in person in Eureka Park at CES 2018 in Las Vegas, January 9-12th, booth #51916 and online at feeldoppel.com
