What does Stage do?

Create and Customize Responsive Web Templates Online

Who is your target user?

Small Agencies, Freelance Developers, New Startups, DIY Crowd

Why did you build Stage? What problem are you taking on?

Consumer web builders create slow bloated code and are inflexible – or they lack in power and flexibility and invariably need to be replaced. Many developers know one CMS well, but others are beyond their scope to build for.

How is Stage different from what is currently available?

There are consumer site builders, but none that all non-coders to create complete responsive professional templates. We publish for WordPress now, with other publishing modules in the works.

With Stage you will be able to create functional prototypes, or complete branded templates for WordPress, Squarespace, Drupal and static HTML.

There are themes that allow you some control over your landing page, fonts, colors, etc. Our app allows you to drag and drop carousels, contact forms, team sections, social media blocks, profiles etc, rearrange items quickly and easily.

Tell us your founding story. Was there an “ah ha” moment?

We discovered early on that although there was an appetite for a template builder, however most everyone when faced with a blank canvas got frustrated and went and bought a theme.

With the drag and drop builder, and professional themes as a starting place, we are encouraged that the prospect of building your own template, trying out various templates free, without the need of hiring a developer will resonate.

Tell us about your founding team and their backgrounds.

I am the common thread, I have had some help along the way, but this project is for all intents and purposes a solo effort. I have learned much about building startups along the way, am trying to learn from my mistakes.
