Like we just said the other day at SXSW, AOL co-founder and Revolution Partners co-founder Steve Case, never rests when it comes to startups. Just as Steve and his wife Jean were settling back at home in the DC metropolitan area, releases started flooding the internet about the next installment of Case’s “rise of the rest” tour which looks for startups across the country in anytown USA. But more so than just checking out the startup scene, Case is all about action. Revolution, Case’s venture capital firm, puts the money where their mouths are.
Triangle Business Journal is reporting that the startup advocate, UpGlobal Chairman and investor will pull into the Raleigh Durham area of North Carolina on the evening of May 4th and then hold an entire startup filled day. The event will center around the three Capital Broadcasting owned “American Underground” locations which house 200 North Carolina startups.
.”It’s a full day, with the bus arriving the night before. It starts with a breakfast and moves into a “startup crawl,” where Case will get to see local entrepreneurs in action.” The Triangle Business Journal reports. And just in case you’re not familiar, Case will make sure he sees every startup he can, just check out this story about their SXSW schedule.
“We’re excited to visit the Raleigh-Durham area … this is a vibrant and diverse startup hub that is quickly becoming a national beacon for innovation and new job creation,” says Case. “There is so much great startup activity taking place in this region and our Rise of the Rest visit will help tell that story.”
Last years tour included stops in Detroit and Pittsburgh as well as cities like Nashville and beyond.
