TalkLocal: Helping People Find Local Service Providers

While we were at SXSW this year, we spent a fair amount of time at the WeDC House. There were a ton of different startups at the house, and we talked to quite a few. That said, one of our favorite companies at the WeDC House was TalkLocal.

WeDC TalkLocal: Helping People Find Local Service Providers

Talklocal is an awesome service that solves a major problem. Here is the pitch:

How do you find a highly rated local business or service professional when you need one? Usually it includes wasting hours searching the internet and/or the yellow pages, reading reviews and then repeatedly calling companies until you find one you like. Wouldn’t it be nice to save all of this time and aggravation? You’re in luck, because talklocal has the perfect solution! It’s a simple 3 step process!1

More than being a blessing to introverts, TalkLocal is the one-stop location to find just local service providers. Currently TalkLocal lists just under 50 services, from dentists, chiropractors, lawyers, to handymen, plumbers, locksmiths, to maid services, and massage therapy. Using the service is incredibly easy.

Using TalkLocal is simple. All you have to do is select one of the services and select the time you need the service completed, and enter any special details and your contact info. Then, TalkLocal does the rest: calling the service providers and finding up to three that meet the criteria provided. Within minutes, TalkLocal connects you to the service providers. Oh, and it is 100% free for the users.

Kyle had a chance to speak with Raj, one of the company’s representatives at the WeDC House during SXSW:
