1 Million Cups is a nationwide coffee meet up where startups and entrepreneurs present their startup ideas to a large audience. The concept is a product of the Kauffman Foundation.

The events are held every Wednesday morning in participating cities. Prior to their presentation the startup presenting prepares for the event using lessons from the Kauffman Foundation’s “Powerful Presentations”series featuring Nathan Gold. Each presenter has 6 minutes to present and 20 minutes of Q&A from the audience.

A group of fourth graders from Rapoport Academy in Waco Texas were the presenters for the March 29th 1 Million Cups event in Waco Texas at the Hippodrome.

Four groups of elementary school startup founders presented their ideas from the group and took questions, as any presenter at the event would.

The presenters were:

Gabriella Arriaga and Annabeth Carlson presented their idea for Cra-Cra Pizza. Jamarriah Powell and LaRyssa Keys detailed their business idea for Shoe Stop. Fuky Masok, Amari Richardson and Lucy Ward presented their concept for Camp Fun. Eliah Contreras and MaeKenzie Smith showed their plans for a Singathon business.
