Applications now open for healthcare-focused entrepreneurs
The Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC) announces the launch of Project Healthcare Portfolio, a program that leverages the full support of the EC’s expertise and network to accelerate the success of select healthcare-focused entrepreneurs. The program takes the full value of an elite accelerator program and makes it available on-demand, year-round for all enrolled entrepreneurs.
Project Healthcare Portfolio connects entrepreneurs with the EC’s extensive network of startup and healthcare industry advisors, superior startup curriculum, network partners and a like-minded community of support. These resources are delivered in a custom-tailored way to each entrepreneur, meeting them at their specific stage of development. Applications are now open through June 8 for entrepreneurs creating, launching or growing startups in the healthcare industry.
Project Healthcare Portfolio builds on the EC’s deep experience supporting healthcare startups, beginning with the EC’s work with companies like Stratasan in 2010 to working closely with 13 other healthcare startups in an invitation-only pilot version of Project Healthcare Portfolio in 2017.
“The EC has always provided exceptional value to healthcare startups,” said EC CEO Michael Brody-Waite, whose previous healthcare startup InQuicker utilized the EC’s healthcare industry expertise. “Project Healthcare Portfolio allows us to deliver that value to more entrepreneurs in a more sustainable way.”
Additionally, an impactful list of program underwriters and supporters from across the healthcare industry have signed on in support of the 2018 Project Healthcare Portfolio program including HCA Healthcare, LifePoint Health, Bass Berry & Sims LLC and Nashville Healthcare Council.
“HCA Healthcare is excited to lend our support to Project Healthcare Portfolio as we work together to grow the future of the healthcare industry. We look forward to seeing a diverse, forward-thinking group of healthcare technology startups be selected to participate in this initiative,” said HCA Healthcare Chairman and CEO Milton Johnson.
“LifePoint Health’s mission is making communities healthier, and one way we do this is by advancing healthcare delivery. We believe Project Healthcare Portfolio plays a significant role in this by supporting the entrepreneurs who are building the healthcare industry of tomorrow,” said LifePoint Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bill Carpenter. “LifePoint is pleased to partner with the EC in this initiative as we collaboratively grow the healthcare industry in Nashville and beyond.”
Project Healthcare Portfolio is open to applicants from North America. Participants can work from anywhere but must attend a minimum of four intentionally-curated, Nashville-based events over the course of the program.
The program runs July 9, 2018, through July 9, 2019. Applicants can apply now through June 8 at www.ec.co/project-healthcare.
