Wisconsin Accelerator gener8tor Announces Partnership To Host OnRamp Manufacturing Conference
gener8tor is an institution in startup acceleration in Wisconsin. With programs in Milwaukee, Madison and Beloit, they’re one of the backbones to the statewide startup ecosystem.
The OnRamp conference will put startups directly in touch with manufacturing corporations in one on one meetings. It will also also offer pitch sessions and a conference track. gener8tor has partnered with the statewide chamber; Wisconsin Manufacturer’s and Commerce, the state’s chamber of commerce and largest business trade association in the state.
The two organizations hope to match up to 200 startups with representatives from 20 top manufacturing companies.
The conference track will feature keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, and product demos. The Startup Track will feature curated one on one pitch sessions between selected startups and corporate venture capital and innovation executives from participating manufacturing companies to discuss potential customer relationships, strategic partnership, and if appropriate, investment opportunities.
“Manufacturing is critical to Wisconsin’s economy, but the industry is vastly different than years ago. A dark and dirty shop floor has been replaced by bright lights, robotics and innovative new technologies. Mixed with the improving business climate and an ever-expanding startup community, now is the time for meaningful investment. We are excited to partner with gener8tor for OnRamp because not only is manufacturing a part of Wisconsin’s heritage, it is an essential part of our state’s future,” said Kurt Bauer, president and chief executive officer at Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce.
“gener8tor is privileged to work with Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce to highlight the best-in-class manufacturers in Wisconsin and around the region, and to commingle them with leading startups and venture capitalists from across the country. We hope the OnRamp Manufacturing Conference in Milwaukee will highlight the region’s role as a market leader in manufacturing,” said Joe Kirgues, gener8tor co-founder.
The conference is being held at Milwaukee’s Miller Park where the Milwaukee Brewers play. The venue is perfect for the 1:1 meetings between startups and corporations. Each corporation will have their own box to sit and discuss strategy and strategic partnerships with the startups in attendance.
