Party Planner Community Startup, PartySlate Raises $3 Million Dollar Seed Round
For the team behind Party Slate, the party planner community startup, it’s time to throw a party of their own. The company founded by Julie Roth Novack and John Haro in 2016 has just closed a $3 million dollar seed round.
The round was led by Hyde Park Venture Partners with participation from Hyde Park Angels, InvestHER Ventures, Jump Investors, Wavemaker Partners and Halogen Ventures.
PartySlate provides a platform for top tier party planners to share ideas and collaborate. People planning parties will find all kinds of inspiration at PartySlate where they’ve already uploaded over 250,000 party idea photos.
On PartySlate people planning parties can:
– Browse and save photos to spark ideas
– Create Idea Boards to share with family, friends or event pros
– Search for local venues and vendors
– Read about the latest event design trends
Event professionals and venues can:
– Post photos to showcase capabilities
– Create custom Idea Boards for clients
– Drive more leads through PartySlate’s premium membership program
– Contribute thought leadership articles to build brand
Prior to PartySlate many party planners turned to social networks like Pinterest and websites like theknot.com but those sites are catering (you see what we did there), to a more consumer crowd. After checking out PartySlate I realized that there are a bunch of amazing pictures and ideas on Pinterest, but at PartySlate you find out how these ideas were actually executed.
With today’s funding news PartySlate also announced a collaboration with Mindy Weiss as an advisor. “We are thrilled to have Mindy as an advisor, she has great connections in the industry and has so many ideas for our team,” Novack said in a statement. “I’m excited to have a beautiful place to share all of my wedding and corporate event photos,” says Mindy Weiss. “This platform is becoming the go-to site to view photos from leading event professionals around the world,” Weiss added.
They also added their third official market, Dallas.
“Dallas was a natural choice for our third market roll out,” says Novack. “There is a really strong event professional community in Dallas and we are excited to feature beautiful Dallas events on PartySlate,” added co-founder John Haro.
